En-Gedi Update…

As many of you join us in supporting our friend Margaret Njuguna in her work at the En-Gedi Children’s home, we wanted to share the newsletter she recently sent our way…

Greetings dear friends and co-workers in the Lord: I thank God every time I remember you. In my prayers for all of you, I pray with joy because of your partnership in the ministry to God’s special children of En-Gedi Home. I am confident that He who began this humbling ministry will help us carry on to completion until our Lord Jesus Christ’s comes to take us home (paraphrased from Philippians 1:3-6)

Christmas season is a season of love, joy and hope; a season when families happily get together to cerebrate each other and the reason for their hope in life. The pay lines at the supermarkerts are always very long, the decorations and lights are delightful, especially in the shopping malls. At En-Gedi, our Christmas cerebrations include welcoming the many families, groups of friends and corporations that come to bless us with gifts. Majority of our children have no understanding of any season, except the season of love and for that, we give them every day. And to the caregivers and other helping staff, I always have a party of delicacies and small gifts for each one of them on Christmas day. For me, I have overflowing joy when I put others’ happiness before my own: when they are happy, I am happy.

For all of you who have contributed to our everyday joy, I say a big “thank you” . May our Lord Jesus Christ reward you in His own special way.

And now, our sustainability project: Let me once again thank you so much for your support towards this project. En-Gedi will live ways beyond you and I, unless of cause, our Lord Jesus comes sooner. The many disabled children whose families don’t want them will always have a home of love at En-Gedi even when we are gone. This project is an investment for them. I am still trusting that God will provide for the funds we still need to bring it to completion. The construction Engineer has told me that it can be done by end of March, if I have the funds approximated at $80,000.

May you all have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 2024!

Warm and Wooly Regards from your friends at Henny’s Yarn Shop!
